About
Heath Lambe – Artist, Fabricator, and Community Builder
I’m Heath Lambe, a multidisciplinary artist, fabricator, and curator who believes in the power of local communities to drive social change through the arts and D.I.Y. education. I’m passionate about fostering inclusive and sustainable creative spaces and have spent my career blending artistry with hands-on leadership to support makers, artists, and storytellers.
I’m a 2008 graduate of Cornish College of the Arts, where I was actively involved in student leadership, worked in the Student Health & Wellness Department, and served as a Sculpture Lab Monitor. All while working full-time, doing my studies and studio work graduating Cum Laude.
My creative practice spans traditional sculpture, painting, and digital fabrication, and I believe that material should never get in the way of the idea. Whether I’m working with CAD (Computer-Aided Design), CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing), or traditional sculpting, I focus on the message and the experience I want to convey. My skills range from concept through final production, and I enjoy pushing the boundaries of material and process. One example of this philosophy in action is my philosopher’s foosball table, which combines sculpting, 3D scanning, and resin printing to create a playful yet thought-provoking piece.
Throughout my career, I’ve held key leadership roles in the arts community. As Board President and de facto Executive Director of Yakima Maker Space, I helped guide the organization to financial stability and established it as a hub for artists and makers. I also served two terms on the Yakima Arts Commission, where I helped shape public arts initiatives and advocated for creative spaces. My work with the Downtown Association of Yakima has supported efforts like First Friday Art Walks and Art in the Park, helping activate public spaces through art.
In my role as a curator and exhibit designer, I’ve had the privilege of developing and installing award-winning exhibits. I’ve been recognized with the 2023 WAMA Award of Excellence and the 2024 Washington State Historical Society David Douglas Award. Balancing artistic vision with project management has been one of my strengths, and it’s made me a sought-after collaborator in the arts community.
I’m deeply committed to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) in everything I do. I’ve led efforts to make creative spaces welcoming for LGBTQIA+ individuals and actively work to ensure that the arts remain an accessible and powerful tool for community engagement.
Whether I’m sculpting, painting, designing immersive exhibits, or mentoring emerging artists, I approach every project with curiosity, craftsmanship, and a dedication to meaningful storytelling.
